美國知名的管樂作曲家、指揮家James Swearingen一生創作無數，樂曲風格以三段式快－慢－快、以及不過度複雜、悅耳旋律廣為人知。其作曲手法亦曾獲得國際管樂協會許多獎項，管樂演奏者在學習過程中對於他的作品並不陌生。本曲在描述一日早晨的光景，開頭小號與上低音號的獨奏對唱帶出清新風格，之後由木管樂器演奏節奏鮮明的旋律如對一天開始的期待感；慢版則由長笛演奏優美的旋律；最後回到快板，多重旋律結構讓樂曲在熱鬧中結束。
