It is a chanson number composed by Joseph Kozuma in 1945 and later written by Jack Prevere. A ballad number sung in medium slow tempo. The lyrics use a lot of metaphors with a seasonal background to describe a reminiscence of a romance that is far away and never returns. It is the world-famous standard for Chanson songs after World War II. It is also known as one of the first jazz materials to be covered by many musicians, and there are countless recordings.
